I may be inclined to overshoot this one a bit but I like the theme and mostly also the execution, and for a first it is very solid. Very cute layout touches feel like the winter tunnels paired with "trademark" Sperry-style placement of loot and a touch of Alcazar/Into the Odd, with a few genuine moments of visual awe, minimal beginner mistakes (an open unmovable door blocking the way?).
A few points:
- Varied environments but feels a tad short for that in either part
- There could be more and/or emergent tasks/events as the game progresses
- The readables initially are top notch overkill but strangely almost lacking in the actual main part, there is almost nothing to read (at the very least some juicy book titles) in a library? Come on
- The building with the main prize feels a tad too single-purpose and empty for that
- No exploration of the Keeper trope?
