If you ever wanted re-live the casino heist in a movie like Ocean's 11, this is the mission to do it. Incredibly detailed from top to bottom, and very challenging with a new array of gadgets and gameplay mechanics to wrap your head around. Really makes you wish the CoSaS campaigns were able to be continued.
This mission starts with limited free reign of the casino while posing as a potential gambler. Really allows you to do some early recon and get acquainted with the map, and maybe grab some early loot. From the very start I remember the pretty insane amounts of detail in the casino from top to bottom, and it only gets more and more impressive as you explore and gain the items needed to unlock more unnecessary areas. It truly feels like a real place, and not just some random video game map with lots of great custom objects and textures. There is also plenty of custom music and dialogue, all of which varies from decent to great, alongside a very informative and entertaining mission briefing video.
The story itself is basically set up like a spy thriller: infiltrate the casino with your team of operatives while you each go on and perform your own objectives, some of which can intersect each other. There is also the option to pick certain mutually exclusive objectives which give this mission a bit of replayability. There are also some optional objectives that you may be able to complete as you progress through the main storyline. This mission directly continues the storyline of CoSaS 1: Gathering at the Inn, so feel free to complete that before trying this one; although it is not necessary at all besides giving you a bit more background on your own character and some of your teammates.
However, beware the high-level of difficulty of this FM if you are a newcomer. The entire casino with the exception of a few areas that are off limits to the public is lit up like a Christmas tree offering very few areas of safety as you traverse through the place. Your map will become your best friend, and so will the various shortcuts through vents and other hidden passageways if you can uncover them. Some areas also have extremely dense guard patrols making it difficult to pick your time to move. Some objectives are also on a time-limit, and you'll suffer story related consequences for not completing them in time.
Definitely recommend this to any stealth fans looking for a real challenge. The sheer technical and artistic brilliance of this FM, especially being well over a decade old now, is another reason to recommend.
