Briefing

There was an urgent knocking on my door tonight. I briefly thought the city watch had come for me but the knocking was too soft. A young lady had come to me with 'important news' regarding my safety.
She told me that someone wants to kill me. That's no news to me since most of the city wants me dead anyway. So I asked why she was so concerned. She told me that she had work lined up for me in future and that I was no use to her dead. Lucrative work, naturally, so my interest in this lady was increasing by the second...
Apparently a bounty hunter has been hired by someone to take me out of the way. I'm flattered that someone feels I'm important enough to kill but what was her interest in this? How did she know and is she involved?
She disappeared as quickly as she had arrived without explaining who she was or who had hired the bounty hunter but, I must admit, I had to find out more. It has the stench of a trap but if she is telling the truth, I need to go in and kill him before he gets me.
Apparently, this assassin is staying in a tavern on Diner Street this evening. I'd better make sure I get the right guest or I'll have more than a bounty hunter to worry about. I'll need find proof of his intentions before I kill him. If this is a trap, I'm going to have a busy night but if she's telling the truth, I'm going to save my own life and make a small profit along the way!

I really enjoyed this mission the second time around. It has the elements of purely classic TDM Thief without all the metaphysical additions in later games, and doesn't try to be ambitious in scope, storyline or, key-hunting. You sneak in and case a joint, get loot, hunt down those who done you wrong, get out. Nice and short, atmospheric, shadow...
