An observatory is not an obvious choice for a Thief level, but through the briefing and the level itself, the author has managed to provide fitting context for why we'd want to be there, and why there'd be so much loot lying around. The Hammerites have taken over Soulforge Cathedral after Karras unfortunate destiny. However, the insides have been completely built from scratch so don´t be disappointed if you expect a kind of "Soulforge Revisited" mission type. The overall layout was great, the tomb section beneath offers some really good riddles not too hard to solve.

The mission straight away comes about as quite dark, both in terms of visuals and the atmosphere. It does a great job of building up the tension through readables and other cues, though you end up feeling like the climax wasn't really there. It just becomes a bit flat at some point and ends rather abruptly and unexpectedly.

The best aspect of part one is in its looks. The city part we're given to roam looks really neat and elegant. It's also quite dark in places, but in general the mission is rather eye-pleasing.
These spaces, however, are really cramped and stuffed with big crowds of people, making your mission really challenging in a less-than-original way.
