*WEATHER and FOG* : This mission was designed with the intent to have rain and fog. Turn the Weather and the fog on. Select: "OPTIONS -> VIDEO -> WEATHER and FOG: ON"


*Hints*
-It might be a good idea to point out that the mission contains some objects, other than ladders, that can be climbed.

-Most of the time, it will be easier to shoot a rope arrow into a wood ceiling and then jump on a beam than directly shoot the arrow into the beam and try to mantle on it.

-Make sure to have selected 'OPTION/GAME/AUTO-EQUIP/ON'. Otherwise you WON'T be able to complete the mission.

-You may experience some framerate lowering issues outside of the manor (on the streets at start) on older computers.


*Known Bugs*
- Some AI may continue to move even after they have finished their speech. Subsequent events should occur normally after a short delay.

- It is also possible that at a certain point a certain door and a certain ladder, both trigged by a certain AI, suddenly return to were they came. This will happen if you move under the descending ladder before it completely stops. Don’t worry though, because you’ll be able to get this ladder back with the right lever…

- Shooting moss arrows on objects (railing, chandelier, table, doors, etc.) near the Lord’s bedroom may result in a large wood breaking sound that may alert AIs. Don’t know what to do for that one.

- At certain places, you may hear Garrett talking about : “having a little light reading”. This comment is supposed to be triggered in the little library near the Lord’s bedroom, but for some reason it is sometime triggered elsewhere.

Einweisung

This story takes place between Thief Gold and Thief 2, while the emergent City Watch, lead by Truart, is raiding criminal organizations in order to take control of the City's black market.

Lord Paul Marton is dead and the news has spread throughout the City. Somehow, Garrett has been fingered as the killer. The Baron's men and the Hammerites are on the lookout for the infamous thief. Knowing that proclaiming his innocence would be suicide, he decides that he will have to solve the problem himself. After some brief investigation, Garrett manages to find a rough map of Lord Marton's manor, as well as some information:

- Lord Marton's sceptre is reputed to be a masterpiece of jewellery and its value on the market is high enough to inspire an artist such as Garrett. To make things easier, the famous sceptre will be laid out beside his Lordship's body. There won't be a better chance for Garrett to steal this sceptre.

- Six rich guests have been invited to attend the funeral at the manor: Brother Reseda, Luther Dregger, Carmin Dumoulong (one of Lord Marton's associate), Madame DuBovin, Celadon Mordoré (The notary) and Martin Marton Jr (the Lord's young and silly brother)... what a perfect opportunity for Garrett to humiliate these ridiculous and snobbish people.

It's a cold and rainy night, so there shouldn't be too many people in the street, nor too many guards near the manor. I've seen only two ways to get inside. One is an entrance to the sewers accessed inside a little enterprise owned by a guy named Harper. I'll have to find a way to get through its gate though. The more direct way is to find a way over the high wall that protects the front of the manor. No time to waste. I've got to go...
