I have played the first Thief games a long time ago, and at the time the only fan mission I downloaded was Thief 2X. Little did I know back then the mesmerizing world of fan missions for the Thief games (to a lesser extent including Deadly Shadows). Since this is my first review of a fan mission, I'll be brief.

Ominous Bequest is nothing short of a masterpiece, and is yet another evidence that any game's lifespan (especially on the PC) presupposes an engaged and dedicated community. Originally released about 20 years ago, it comes to show how the modding community is the heart of the thief series. It takes place in a manor (with a lower level including tombs), and not only is the map well detailed, but also requires extensive navigation and exploring in order to complete. The documents and letters enclose a very interesting story, and it most certainly isn't your run of the mill story to fulfill a requirement for any fan mission, given the necessity to read every piece of information in order to progress. As my playtime reached little over 4 hours, I believe this should keep you very entertained, and you won't regret the experience.
