I've decided to pay a certain manorlord a visit. When I was down and out in my luck, stashed away in prison, my valuables and equipment were auctioned off to the highest bidder. Lord Robert Maguire, an old acquaintance of mine, decided to take it upon himself to buy my sword as a victory trophy for his aptly named "Victory Foyer." Lord Maguire and I first met out in the street on a cold rainy day. I had just finished acquiring some souvenirs from a local merchant's house when I bumped into him. A goblet fell from my cloak, and clattered to the ground. A lump caught in my throat as I realized I was facing none other than a policeman. I took off, and that night I escaped from him. A few years later, he put me behind bars a couple of times - but couldn't keep me there.
I hear that he's an avid collector of precursor masks as well, maybe I can collect enough loot to set myself up for a couple of months.
I scamper through the wintry night, and delve into the shadows when possible. After passing the night watch, I slip through the main entry gate into Lord Maguire's Estates. I immediately notice a Mechanist Tower looming to the right. What are the Mechanists doing here? I open my map jotted for me by a toothy woman who claims to have worked in the Estates as a housemaid. I notice she has sketched in warning of the Tower. I also notice a big red 'x' on the building marked "Lord Bentley." Wonder what that old hag had in mind...I flash to her ranting about a secret in the basement. Well, if I have the time, maybe I'll drop by there and see just what she's going on about."
