I was just starting to like november of 1999, treasury was a weak start, but between lampfire and Shunned, it was really quite a treat.
Then I realized I missed an FM. This FM.
So, Garrett has tripped over and lost all his stuff, and being the thief he is, there is only one possible way to get revenge of course.
Garrett is going to go to the market...
And buy new stuff. (Or possibly rebuy his old stuff)
Thats right, Garrett, the master thief, reacts to being stolen from, by shrugging his shoulders and buying it back.
You may be asking... how does that work? this is the thief engine, did they make a store? That sounds like a cool technical achievement!
Well, in reverse order; no, no, and it doesn't. This mission is really a set of locked boxes with oddly shaped keys. You start by going to the box for your blackjack, but are told to get a thiefy-trinket instead to trade for the blackjack. Getting the thiefy trinket means getting a hammer, getting a hammer means bringing a severed head to the hammerites.
If that sounds stupid, well it is, glad your paying attention.
Full disclosure: I got about half way through this FM I reckon, but needed to find a keeper object to proceed. With no idea how to get inside the keeper section (there is a locked door, but no clue as to where the key is), I just gave up.
As far as visuals go... it's jawdropping... but not in a good way. It is honestly distressingly bad. Doors are not in their frames (They are labeled with their sizes in dromed! just put the 4X8 door in a 4X8 Hole!) the outdoors is just a huge box. Supposedly this took a while to make. None of that effort shows in the final product.
Even for 1999, this is atrotious, barely understandable, and I have only scratched the surface as to why you should avoid this mission.
