The mission straight away comes about as quite dark, both in terms of visuals and the atmosphere. It does a great job of building up the tension through readables and other cues, though you end up feeling like the climax wasn't really there. It just becomes a bit flat at some point and ends rather abruptly and unexpectedly.
Wandering around the city you feel excitement about what dark or intriguing stuff you're about to uncover, which unfortunately isn't exactly fulfilled. Most areas seem rather empty and uninteresting at close inspection. The mine areas feel somewhat more convincing, and the prison is definitely the brightest part of the mission in terms of design, even though I felt it could have been developed much more, especially considering how much hype it's given in various pieces of information lying about.
Gameplay-wise, there's not much of note, really. The focus is on finding your way and stealing what you need. Not as much on stealth, since the enemies are few and far between. It's not particularly challenging, nor does it make you annoyed in any way.
In the end "Shipwreck" comes out as rather mediocre, especially from today's perspective, but you may still want to try it if you're into themes of darkness and desolation.
