First mission is everything you want from a city mission without it becoming at all overwhelming, something that tends to happen to me with this FM style. Stoney skyscrapers of the best fantasy kind. The readables are highly enjoyable and the map is very useful. The loop you make through the city and the city areas (in the gameplay sense) give it personality, variety and helps you not get lost if otherwise the whole city "looked at" the same cardinal point. Speaking of the compass, most openings that make you advance towards your objective are looking north, which is the same spot the orphanage occuppies in the map, helping you feel like you're in the right track. Most alcoves and detours are essentialy tunnels with a definite end instead of loops that would open up the city but would make it more confusing. Superb design everywhere. Only found one area were the jump I made and the place it led me to was not supposed to, when the mission has that kind of traversing, but it's a very minor thing. Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky to see the new animations I read about in the readme other than the obvious one at the beggining with that new AI. The mission managed to make that beautiful, perfect middle point between being extremely curious and adventurous without making you feel lost. The lack of lockpicks was fun and the key placements (most on AIs) was great, because it helped highlight the new conversations, both making the city alive. And the scary spots were, in fact, scary as shit. So far, only good things to say. Campaign is looking great.
