While the idea of this mission sounds promising, the disappointment is then even bigger when you realise that it is rather empty and even worse, boring.
Yeah, the level is big, but size isn´t everything(no pun intended). You climb up to some room and then only grab a few low to medium-valuable loot items like a golden cup or a statue. A lot of items are just for decoration and not frobbable.
Heck, what is even more annoying that there are TONS of doors that are non-openable. Really, TONS.
Just to clarify it: With "empty" I mean that it is my impression of that because the objects don´t have any important role. Yes, there are candles, books, pots and whatever things in a lot of rooms, but they don´t serve any purpose.
At some of them you might hear audio playing, dialogues and monster noises. Feels like adding injury to insult, it is supposed that there is something behind them, but it´s not in the level. Bleh. And then expect falling to death at a lot of spots. Yeah I understand it´s a rooftop mission, but a lot of the spots are annoying placed, and let´s be honest, mantling in Thief always sucked(even new-mantle).
Overall to me the mission feels more like as if someone has put together rather empty FMs with low object count from the early 2000s to a big one and put some audio files in it.
But sorry, this is no 2nd "Life of the Party". Also, IMHO it doesn´t really catch the Thief 2 vibe. Hammerites and such stuff are more Thief Gold, there are even a lot of sound files from TDP/TG playing(like the briefing music of The Sword).
Can´t recommend this level.

Is it only me who sees that you created several same, identical topics with this review?

Probably an internet messup. Harsh review, I have this mission as my second favorite in the contest. But to each their own :(

Probably a messup of such sort, yes. Duplicates are now deleted, since I doublechecked they were exactly the same.

I tried to edit the rating but it didn´t work, therefore it seems the site created several topics.
I have to admit, it seems a bit harsh, but then after thinking about it seems fitting. When climbing to a window after several tries with falling to death, dealing with a bowmen only to snag a couple of coins or a 15G goblet in an otherwise empty room, I can´t get too enthusiastic about it.

I'm still trying to find the pun that was unintended.

UdoKrawallo you should stop acting like a hero and downvoting people missions here. Rating this mission as crap for imaginary reasons feels very wrong. Look at how people reacted to your review you got 7 dislikes. It's obvious this mission is no crap. You should learn to respect the authors and their hard work. You really know what a crap mission should look like? I doubt it..

Well, if I would care about majority votes, crap(it seems you like that word) should be the best food as millions of flies can´t be wrong.
I didn´t like this mission, so I stated my opinion about it.
I only respect the work I view as respectable. If someone puts out a shitty mission I don´t care how long it has taken them to make it.
So you don´t need to side with other authors just because I gave your mission a bad rating. Especially considering that you told your friends to register and upvote your own missions you shouldn´t be so grandiose.

You are rating good missions as crap so stop playing childish here.
I don't ask anyone to vote for my maps they did that on their own will. They have the right to do so, every person have the right to make account here and vote for a map as you do. So stop talking crap about me. And i kindly asked them to remove their ratings when i receive complaints because i respect others people hard work, which is not your case. You just randomly downvoting maps here for imaginary reason that's what you do.
thumb_up thumb_down Votes: -2
Yeah, calling opinions other than yours "childish" is really mature for sure LOL
So, you talking about "rights", then I have the right to write negative reviews for missions I don´t like, I don´t talk crap about you, you do it on your own already.
I reject your spurios accusations - "randomly" would mean I rate missions I haven´t played. But I played every mission I rated and finished them all, just saying. Aside that, I don´t need to give account to anyone, especially not you.

You have the right to vote for maps here as you please as long you don't make harm to others. I'm already complaining about your activity here. Let's see if other people here have complaints against your activity. Time will tell. And lets see what is the real rating of this map after the voting is over.
I don't stated that you haven't played those maps, i just said you are giving ratings that are not in accordance with the valor of each mission. The ratings are supposed to be fair, every author should receive fair ratings based on the actual value of his work.

Man, stop whining about the rating of map you didn´t even make. And don´t think you can tell me what to do, it´s silly.
"Complaining" about reviews is unnecessary and not needed. Opinions are like assholes - everybody has one.
Yeah, I guess it will have a rather high rating, so what? I repeat myself when I say I don´t care about majority votes. If a popular movie is shit I say that, and if it has bad ratings and I like it, I say that, too.
Don´t you have your 14 level campaign to make instead of annoying others on this site?

Ok, I gave this mission what was pretty much a rave review, so obviously I strongly disagree with UdoKrawallo here, but I don't think it serves anyone to attack the reviewer in this manner when the review is not outright offensive and clearly doesn't violate any rules. It's one thing to challenge a reviewer on their opinions but another to say they can't express them, however harsh they are. As someone who has published levels (for a different game) and other things as well, I think creators who put their work out there should be able to take criticism of their work, even if they ultimately feel it's inaccurate or unhelpful.
If Master of Dromed feels so strongly about this mission then I think it would be a better use of their time to write their own review.

I don't said he can't express his opinions here. I'm just questioning his good intentions. His opinion obviously can be challenged as it differs a lot from opinion of majority of people. Also he seems to not have common sense in his reviews. This is not the first case with this reviewer as he posted reviews in the same manner on other missions. He started all his reviews with statements as "this mission is boring and empty so it must be rated as crap". This hardly affects his credibility as a reviewer i think. This also raises suspicions about this reviewer trying to ruin the chances of this mission on winning the competition by giving this mission unfair rating. As members of the community i don't think we want that. All of us should take care that this contest is fair and no one is disadvantaged.

Well, I don't think there's any way of knowing UdoKrawallo's true intentions. I find it doubtful they're a troll, as they've posted positive reviews as well. Sure, this particular review is very harsh, and I don't understand the rating, but the nature of open forums like this is that people can review however they want, UNLESS they violate the rules, which this person hasn't done. As for UdoKrawallo's credibility as a reviewer, that's for people who read UdoKrawallo's reviews to decide on their own.
The contest votes are given on the TTLG website, which is not the same as this one.

As much as I really, really don't agree with his review and scoring (and most people probably also disagree with him), he has every right to post it as it is how he truly feels. I don't think he is doing any of his reviews for some malicious reason, but simply just posting what he genuinely believes/feels about the missions. I don't agree with some of them, but I'm not going to force him to "fix" them. He's free to post it.
Personally, it's coming off to me that you're only going after him once he posted negatively about your own mission, which I very much hope isn't the reason. I'd just let it go and move on, this is getting silly now.
thumb_up thumb_down Votes: 1
Of course he has the right to post anything but i don't think this reviewer is credible from now on. He's obviously not capable or not want to rate a mission on a fair manner.

I'm ok with this review. To be frank, I don't think it's particularly well thought out and the ultra-low score appears to come from a place of anger (I suspect mantling difficulty was the main point of frustration and probably just poisoned the well for every other aspect), but I don't mind it too much. Some people hold a grudge and double down. It happens.
I guess my biggest hangup with it was the very low story score, as I always thought story was probably my strongest skill when it comes to making missions. But eh, not going to please everyone. No reason to get too hurt about it.
I do think the charge of "empty" is slightly humorous when the object limit was basically reached, however. Haha!
