Another polished and atmospheric FM from nicked. Known for his design skills, the author again proved that he knows how to build moody environment and guide the player through it. This time the gameplay is linear... or at least it was meant to be. As in many other productions, we are forced to look for several items in order to move forward. It is possible to find yourself in a situation of being stuck, with a handful of interesting items in the inventory, but no idea what to do next. So yes, the author speaks true that this mission doesn't play like a standard Thief mission. Together with a... very specific kind of new opponents, you can get a few jumpscares, especially at the very beginning of dealing with mentioned NPCs. This makes it quite unpleasant to go around places, search for clues or inspect locations more precisely. In the end you have a feeling of insecurity when searching the sorceror's tower. Sometimes that feeling is as disturbing as some of the available paintings. I would certainly welcome that kind of mechanics on expert difficulty.
