The sewers section was a joy after a few false starts. For someone who prefers to play minimal reloads with improvisation, I did a few straight up "mission restarts" in the first 10% of the sewers until I modified my tactics.
While the section kinda forces ghosting a bit (there's really nowhere to run to get away from someone before running into MORE guards) I really liked the use of complicated patrols to enforce difficulty. It was an exercise in patience and being much more aware of guard placement than I usually am. I legitimately think it made me a better TDM player.
Once emerging from the sewers you get bombarded with a ton of additional optional objectives - I loved how this was handled!
The rest of the mission was fine although I do think I enjoyed the sewers (and the Well area) the most. Cleighmoor itself was fine but I found it a bit too similar to the mission just before it.
Pros:
- Sewer: environment & difficulty
- Well: unexpected and a great change of pace - also good generating interest in the area from the sewer dig site
- Cleighmoor Cells: determining where Grady is and the actual cell area
- Excellent use of readables/lore/optional objectives
Cons:
- Cleighmoor: well designed but too similar to the compound in the mission immediately before this one
- Loot Goal: Too aggressive - especially compared to WS2. I got so frustrated trying to find 50g that I got sloppy and started gassing everyone in the compound.
- Well: loot pickups should persist in the HUD despite the overlay change - I had no idea how much anything was worth or what I picked up off of the table.
General comments:
* I'm still a bit confused about the dig site. It did a great job of building character for the "Well" part of the mission but I'm still not sure if I could have gone down that trapdoor somehow?
* The nods to the book in the well area were great. Making the key fall out of the book to ensure people read it before going to the well was a stroke of genius.
* Is it possible to generate a confirmation message when you get to the Completed Mission point? I feel I was not the only one who accidentally finished the map going outside of the vacant house before finishing all of the optional objectives.
