Project Hammer: Secret Connections is a full remake of the first mission of the campaign of the same name from 2010. The author himself describes the original as "a really primitive", hence this overhaul. Which was completely rebuilt from scratch, with some newly added content.

The mission itself is a mansion heist and the estate, as well as its neighbouring garden, are all beautifully realised with some nice attention to detail. You can even peek through the gates and mansion's windows at the surrounding City area.

There's no item shop and, at least on Expert difficulty, you start with an absolute bare minimum of equipment. Plus, there's an optional objective allowing no more than two knockouts. And you're gonna need them. The estate itself isn't the largest, with narrow corridors and small rooms all being heavily patrolled by guards. With the second storey introducing marble floors the use of moss and water arrows are essential. There's a lot of opened windows and a gallery connecting the second and third stories of the mansion, so even a small alarm would bring half of the guards on your tail.

The story mainly revolves around Garret trying to find information about the titular "Project Hammer" for some anonymous client and is a setup for the rest of the campaign missions that are supposedly still coming.

Clearing the objectives is a scavenger hunt where reading scrolls and diaries scattered throughout the mansion for some time quite obtuse hints is crucial. As a secret, the mission features three hidden objectives all located in otherwise optional parts of the mansion. With one particular area housing two of those being rather large and offering quite an interesting quest that adds a paranormal dimension to the otherwise grounded mission.

All in all, Project Hammer: Secret Connections is a solid mansion heist mission that leans a bit on the obtuse side with its objectives, particularly evidenced by optional and gold requirements all expecting patience from a player that is otherwise unnecessary in such rather small mission.
