I can't help, but there is something about these keyhunt missions I just can't take - and Cabot is (only from the keyhunt aspect though) one of the least tolerable I've ever played.
The amount of locked doors that can be opened only by using a specific key you have to find first is (I can't find a better word) 𝘶𝘯𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 in this mission. And because it's often not really clear which key you've found, you can't really do else, but run around trying to find out which one is the newly openable door. Sometimes a key opens a new area mandatory for being able to progress with the mission, sometimes it's just a room with a locked chest containing an oddly few amount of loot.
The ironic thing is there was one key I probably couldn't even found (the one which perhaps should have opened the backdoor of the city watch office), though luckily I was able to come up with an odd, but functional workaround. In my opinion, a well designed Thief mission should have the multiple approaches option of immersive sims. Locking away this amount of parts of a map in a way like this feels extremely artificial and awkward to me. Sorry, but I can't avoid using the "bad design" term in this case.
What about the other aspects? Thanks god, the rest of the mission was built with a respectable effort. Nothin too special - the layout unfortunately suffers from the keyhunt design (lots of linear parts and opportunities to run into temporary dead ends) - but the texture work and the use of lights is really nice. I especially like how the creator has found ways to make the mansion have its own identity by using a lot of brown and claret colors.
Need to also mention the writing as well - as another good quality of the mission. There were a few parts where readables had a little bit too breaking-the-fourth-wall kind of humor perhaps, but I enjoyed the interconnecting stories and characters this mission offered.
If you don't mind keyhunt mission design and want to play an overall solid Deadly Shadows fm, this one is definitely recommended to you - but otherwise, expect a lot of annoyance you may, or may not be able to take without giving up.

Yes, I agree that keyhunt stuff in this mission could be a problem. I'm really sorry, it seems I made wrong offer.
You said also that you like small missions and with less amount of keyhunt stuff. There are some of them you might be interested in - 72-hours contest missions Vanishing Point (for T2) and also - maybe - bigger Dirty Money (for TG). The latter though could be a bit of tangled and labyrinthine in some sections. Zontik's mission, Upside Down is also small - and unlike his other works it is NOT keyhunt/puzzle at all. You actually play the role of guard who tries to disrupt attack of thieves. It's very unusual mission and I don't know whether it is up to your tastes. But it is one of the most original FMs I've ever seen.

Ah, don't worry about it - seriously. Especially in case you've interpreted the "Thanks to Mike" part at the end of my review as a cynical epilogue :'D It wasn't.
I usually enjoy studying things even when I happen to find them flawed - partly because nothing is perfect, but also, it's one good way to learn from the mistakes of others - even though I'm not planning to design Thief fan missions, it just helps me appreciate the exceptional ones in a more nuanced way (by the way, being able to find an alternate and probably unintentionally designed way into the city watch office was really fun in Cabot).
Vanishing Point sounds very familiar to me, there is a huge chance I've played it once, not sure about Dirty Money though - I need to check both of them out later on.
Upside Down is a really fun roles reversed little mission, what I liked about it the most was the way it demonstrated that the concept of guards not being able to spot you in the shadows is really not that unrealistic as one could think.

OK. I personally prefer Dirty Money to Vanishing Point (which itself is still very good for me), but I can understand that it could be a bit too tangled for other tastes.
