I'm aware of that there is not only one type of Thief player. Some look for hardcore thieving challenges, ghost runs, etc. - I'm not one of those. I just want to enjoy a well designed level. But for me this mission is a master class of design. Seriously, I can not name any other mission that does things that a Thief mission should do this well in such tiny map, respecting your time.
Fun rooftop segments, tight streets, comfy apartment interiors - and an overall well thought out non-oversized geometry. Could the map be a little bigger? Well... maybe? But what you get here is - in my opinion - almost flawless, full of life and heart. For my part, a map like this captures the feel of the city much better than the huge missions filled with empty spaces, annoying dead ends, nerve cracking key hunt parts and tedious backtracking.
Need to also mention how I admire the simplicity and great humour of the main plot. It's down to earth, relatable, and immediately puts you on the track of the mission without throwing a huge wall of exposition text over you. I also love how sound is an essential part of the Thief games, and here you need to track down an object that makes an annoying one preventing Garrett from being able to sleep.
What else can I say...
I love this mission, and hope more people will discover it.
