Ironically the title perfectly captures my conclusion about this mission. While starting it the first time was quite exciting (I liked the author's previous fm - The Walk - a lot), my feelings quickly turned into confusion, then frustration... and disappointment at the end. The reason why I mind that a lot is because the author had a good understanding of how to build a great Deadly Shadows map. I would genuinely believe if one said the two maps of Bad Feeling were official. The amount of details, asset placements, overall layout: all is perfect.
Now, here is what I think makes disappointing this mission: its overall design. There is a little bit of adventure game logic going on, you need to brew a potion to be able to get into a room undetected, but all of that path is cursed by a brewing minigame that can easily get you soft locked(?) - but the effect of the desired potion is also confusing - and also the room is literally unapproachable from any other way. If you try to enter the room, regardless of whether anyone spotted you, or not, the mission is over. While I appreciate the author implemented something unusual for a Thief fm, the end result feels extremely cheap considering the immersive sim logic regular missions usually follow.
Last, but not least: my final problem with the mission is the loot requirement. The difficulty doesn't matter, it's always 2500 gold. I obviously missed something, but after collecting 1950 gold, I couldn't imagine where was the rest. And I assume the two maps should have at least 3000 gold worth of loot.
It's a shame, but I kinda still recommend checking the mission out. Seeing a Deadly Shadows fm coming this close to being genuinely great and authentic is rare.
