I'll have to get it out of the way - I love this mission. While it has been some time (9 months or so) since I played it, its' image remains vividly in my head. It has climbed up to my top5, maybe top3 FMs of all time, and I have been playing these for around 18 years now, if that's saying something.
The heavy, rain - soaked atmosphere of skacky's vision of Stonemarket is so thick you could cut it with scissors. From wide city streets patrolled by grumpy guards, through dark, but somewhat cosy (when seeking warmth from the cold rain) interiors of the City's rich and depraved, to high rooftops and precarious ledges between towering buildings, where one step can mean your doom - this mission simply sucks you in and doesn't let go until the very end.
While the story might not be Pulitzer - worthy, it serves its' purpose, bridging the gap between its' predecessor and sequel, though I will undoubtedly claim that Endless Rain is the best mission of the "City trilogy" (as I would call it). And I would recommend it to anyone who would play Thief - I think it's that good.
Seriously, just go and play it. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere. Challenge the cold, endless rain.
