The beginning is quite simple. Starting point is outside of a Hammerite Temple and the temple is quite small from inside. There's a graveyard behind the temple and from there the journey goes underground. There's some puzzles before player gets to Sepulchre itself. I found the puzzles just enough challenging, not too difficult.
The real creepy journey starts once you get to the sinister Sepulchre. It's dark and malicious place with harder enemies than OMs, but sneaking around isn't too hard. The hardest thing for me was to find my way around the Sepulchre and to understand what I'm supposed to do next. I really liked the readables in this FM. They kind of a create a story that could be somekind a dark horror fantasy book. For example, a red diary that tells about three thiefs and how they struggle in the Maze of Death to find a way to Erin's Temple, was very interesting. There's something special in that maze, the atmosphere is unlike anything I've experienced in FMs or OMs and I did use a walkthrough since I struggled to find a path there. I think this maze could be a great example for someone to do something similar and maybe it could be a little bit more forgiving, so that player wouldn't teleport all the way back to that start room.
Another formidable place was the Shrine of Terror. For me it was the scariest place in this FM. Very dark room and once you snatch the Amethyst of Terror, lots of red eyes emerge in the far corners of this room. This creates a very intimidating feeling.
In many ways this FM was 10/10 for me (story, atmosphere) but I think the gameplay was it's biggest fault as it was maybe the hardest FM so far that I've played. I had to look for help from a walkthrough several times as I didn't know what to do.
All in all, Sepulchre of the Sinistral is one of the most intimidating and impressive FMs I've played so far, but it's kind of contradictory because mostly it was a stunning FM but the sticky gameplay made me lower some points. I think The Broadsword of Sheol and Sepulchre of the Sinistral have same kind of dreaded feel that made me step carefully and listen what's around the corner.
