A long time ago in the distant future, a mission is released called "sunken library". Angder, the author, included a section with complete darkness. He spoke up, and said "this is an important part of the mission", "most people liked it." Even as anger towards the decision grew he stuck to it, embraced it.
His supporters even said "I wish more missions had complete darkness".
For Angder, somewhere, a monkey's paw curled a finger.
Dark walker is a 1999, september mission, that feels more like a June mission. Playing through them in order, this mission already feels dated. It's boxy rooms, crowded areas, at least the floor isn't marble.
But this is all tolerable, except for the darkness. The unstoppable, all covering, darkness. Loot, doors, and people, hidden in the darkness.
It's insufferable, and without flares, it's very much a case of frobbing blindly. Oh and you need almost all of the loot, so I hope you are willing to stumble blindly around looking for it.
Had this not had the loot objective, it would have been a tentative 3/10. As it stands, it drops itself to 2/10. Unfortunately, it's just not fun to play.
