Just as I was going mad from the low quality of these early FMs which I chose to inflict myself with, Lord Edmund appears to entertain me, and unlike his guests who... well, that would be telling.
This mission is great. If you told me it released yesterday, I would still be singing it's praises.
It is another release by Banshee, who we first saw with Guardhouse 1. This one however actually runs in Thief natively, is well written, feels smooth to play, and is just... amazing.
It's a simple mansion mission, where the mansion hides a dark secret, all squeezed into 15 minutes of gameplay. It only has human enemies, and is very compact, but everything it does, it does near flawlessly.
As I write this, I had this marked as a 7, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that while it's doing nothing particularly special, I can't actually criticise it. There are no flaws to disect, no problems to fix. While it doesn't do enough to hit an 9 or 10 (it's just not impressive enough in it's ambition) as mansions go, I firmly recommend this one.
