Straight to the point: the campaign is not only very well constructed, but also the story is actually interesting and tied to the main game in a fun way. But more importantly, when I think about it I'll remember how many nods towards old FM players it does. To say it's "aware" or a "meta" FM is overboard. It's done straight. But it's also full of clever, unique, not-before-seen little details, like some puzzle solutions, but mostly layered by outright dry humor jokes that are played on your expense: on the ludonarrative dissonance that is generated when you try to do something because you've done it before in a mission, but the game reacting (this time) with the most unflinching and concise realism. I laughed several times at stuff like that.
Spoiler for a joke: I saw the typical green coat hangers on a wall and I knew one of them would be frobbable. Lo and behold, one of them was. But when frobbed, it turned to the side and fell to the floor. Because obviously, what else would a coat hanger do, open a secret area?

The "secret" with the banana in the first mission made me laugh out loud, love the sense of humour in this one
