Oswald's Patisserie has a certain je-ne-sais-quoi.
On first tasting, it can seem to have a bland and flat texture.
Harsh and user-unfriendly architecture can leave the taster with parched countenance and the crumbs of disappointment will likely annoy.
It has a simple and humble presentation, without much in the way of garnish but seasonings abound:
Oswald's Patisserie has, for me, been dulcified with time.
It bears the aftertaste of an era - notes of naivete and whimsy are sprinkled throughout, and I hope somebody will pick this up and re-imagine the dish the chef proposed.
