This mission is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I'm a sucker for the ordinary mission gone awry, and this FM has that feeling in spades. It's also one of the few FMs that make my very modern computer seemingly struggle to keep good frames when overlooking certain areas.
Whether you enjoy this mission or not depends on your tolerance for set pieces. Instead of cramming all the crazy stuff at the end, similar to Ominous Bequest which it seems heavily inspired by, these moments are instead fed to you piece by piece throughout the course of the mission. Without getting too spoilery, first there's the discovery of what's in the missing maids room, then a literal descent into the place where the manor made most of it's wealth and holds some of it's darkest secrets, and then... well you'll just have to play and find out. Needless to say these sequences are some of my favorite in any mission.
The real bulk of the mission is of course the mansion, and for the most part is well designed with various entries and exits to each area, and plenty of guard paths to memorize. I didn't find myself particularly struck by it's design or layout, it's mostly there to serve as a vehicle to get some loot and traverse through as you're fed (pretty linearly actually) pieces of story and readables leading you from location to location. Some light puzzles here and there round out the experience; a head-scratcher this is not.
Overall, this is an above-average mansion heist whose real quality lives or dies based on how hard you buy into it's various twists and turns. I bit hard.
