As mentioned in the title, this FM gets a full playthrough out of me at least once a year. It's always a great time when the absolute banger of a mission intro begins. And let's get the only potential negative out of the way early-- besides the mostly straightforward puzzles, the gameplay is very shallow. There is no combat, and there are no loot goals. You just have to figure out a way to cleanse this Victorian mansion of it's haunted inhabitants.
What isn't shallow is the absolutely staggering use of custom content and detailed environments in this mission. In terms of detailing and mood, the mansion and connected areas you explore are absolute top of class. Not to mention pretty dang spooky! While the actual threat of the mission is basically a bog-standard NPC with a custom skin and higher run speed, the IMPLIED threat is so well done with some absolutely phenomenal scripted sequences and occasional light jump scare.
For the ultimate eagle eyed players and key hunters, there are also collectible tarot cards hidden in devilishly ingenious places in every square foot of the place.
I can't gush enough how much of a pleasure it is to once again explore the what is undoubtedly the ultimate Thief haunted house.
