Hazard Pay uses quite unique desert mine/tomb setting which is relatively rare among TDM missions. It puts you into shoes of mine's worker. During some terrible events in the mines your fellow workers died or turned into some kind of zombies and you must survive and bargain with another survivor in order to escape from the desert.
Mine/tomb complex is mostly non-linear with some occasional bottlenecks. You can avoid enemies by using numerous detours (that will require some platforming and paying attention to you surroundings) or engage with them into combat. You also have more than one way to deal with co-survivor if you wish. Also mission is heavily customized: some new textures, effects, new interesting way of unlocking doors... The most interesting feature - is limited save system which can change typical TDM experience - for better or worse depending from player's perspective: there's limited number of saves on higher difficulties and you can save only in specific locations with specific objects you should find in the level. In any case its challenging and, since it is also quite short, doesn't overstay its welcome.
