I feel like as I move through 2000, I am starting to hit a weird mid-section between the early 1999 missions that are sometimes played out of curiosity, and the more fondly remembered missions from the mid 2000s. It doesn't help that even the best of these old FMs tend to be average by todays standards, sometimes I wonder if there is any reason to jump back all this time at all, as there is no doubt that almost everything these old FMs could do, modern FMs, with their year long production cycle, and betatesting, and painstakingly crafted rooms, can outperform without even trying.
Seeds of doubt is a perfect example of this issue. It's a very well made city mission, with interesting and well thought out enviroments, secrets, and a degree of progression and variety that I would praise even today. However it has issues, such as a secret which breaks the fourth wall by having the author talk to the player directly (a moderately common thing to see in early FMs unfortunately), and a pair of loot objectives that require you to find every piece of loot on the map. There is also a voiced character, but the voice is quiet (Compared to Garretts, and the guards), I cannot tell you what was being said by them.
Even with all the high praise I gave it earlier, I can't give it a high ranking. by modern standards, the mission is ugly, and I was unable to complete it due to the loot objective. Still, I genuinely feel this mission is about as good as you could have hoped for at the time.

Thanks for reviewing old books shelves. There is a bit of dust to clean here.

I enjoyed this quite a lot, solid indeed. Thanks for the recommending missions like this! I wouldn't have the patience to go through all these oldies, but your reviews usually give a pretty good idea about what's worth checking out.
