An observatory is not an obvious choice for a Thief level, but through the briefing and the level itself, the author has managed to provide fitting context for why we'd want to be there, and why there'd be so much loot lying around. Similar care is put into the level design, boasting an abundance of small details here, like lockboxes opening up to reveal their contents, then closing and becoming unfrobbale when you've looted them, sneaky secrets and optional objectives. There's a very low loot objective that's mandatory, but once you clear that, an optional objective pops up that states, quite simply, "too easy for ya?" and asks you to get way more loot. I don't think I've seen loot objectives handled like this in a mission, giving you an easy first bar to cross and then taunting you to go further. It's also pretty easy to achieve, but I like the idea behind it and I wish I'd see it more, now.
I also like this misison's main gimmick, which revolves around the telescope itself; or rather, you'll be revolving the telescope. Ha ha. Unfortunately, moving it takes a small age, so when you do figure things out, you've got nothing to do but sit there, perfectly still, holding down right click. It's a small bump in the road, and pales in comparison to the inconsistency between shadows and your visibility here, but neither are enough to truly spoil this mission.
