Download Links Disappeared?

Some missions have missing download links in the database, which is also the case for those two.

Those missions never had download links, so the links didnt "disappeared".

Hey there! I've added 2 mirrors each now, added links to TTLG forums, and added readme, manual, walkthrough files.

Please note it takes some manual work to do it, but we are adding those links on regular basis.

Download links for all missions rated >=7.5 here, with thiefguild.com PK first and thiefmissions.com DL link second. I could get more, but it would need scraping thiefguild.com and I don't know schema. Do what you want with this.

ThiefGuild.com has an integration with ThiefMissions.com - it is mostly based on this file:

You can see some of the historical activities of "crawling bots" of ThiefGuild.com on this page:

Now I launched the integration again, and it processed 1277 entries from that file, and 547 entries have failed.

I'm checking your pinpoints one by one, and it looks like they errored by some minor mistakes like:

"Horns of Canzo part 2: The Dragon's Claw" is simply "The Dragon's Claw" on Thief Guild, so automation cannot relate it right ahead.
"Mystic Gems II - Heart of Bohn" - Thief Guild: "Mystic Gems 2: Heart of Bohn"
"The Ghost House and The Haunted Hospital" - the second "The" is spelled lowercase on Thief Guild.
etc...

I will consider updating those titles or improving our integration script. In the worst, I will update some by hand.

Looks like the integration now added those entries. Maybe there were improvements to the titles since the last run:

Looking at missions.desc, I can see that sections heading (like #

  • ) correspond to the URL slugs on thiefmissions.com. Any chance to establish these as the natural keys for the purpose of loading into DB? If you don't have time, consider opening these chores to the community. thiefguild.com is the most modern-looking of Thief websites (i.e. not phpBB) therefore is the most likely chance for Thief community to continue for the next five years.

    • Also do this for FMEditor, if you care about its release. E.g. I have Qt/C++ background, but I definitely wouldn't contribute to a project which i) I can't see source, ii) 99% chance it will have developer say "I'm too busy to continue" in one year or two, and no one can replace him, because no one ever saw the source before. On the other hand, if this is just your hobby, that's fine.

    Hi there. Sorry for the late reply. Somehow I didn't notice your message.

    Could you rephrase your question about URL slugs? I don't seem to understand what do you mean by "establishing these as the natural keys".

    Regarding FMEditor, we work on it with Juliusz for about 5 years and I wouldnt say there is 99% chance of developer saying "I'm too busy to continue"

    After alpha and beta, the project will be publicly released and open source.
