A few days ago, I started replaying Thief Gold. It's my first time on Expert. Since I did not skip the Thieves' Guild mission the first time around, I dreaded the idea of replaying it. Thus, I started looking if some fan mission managed to update the original. To a lot of coincidence, I found that this fan mission was released only two weeks ago. That's a really, really huge coincidence. I decided that this would replace my Thieves' Guild adventure. I also decided this would be the first fan mission I play.
And it's a really good one! For starters, it's a lot better than the original Thieves' Guild, but that isn't a very big accomplishment; the original is infamously bad. On its own, this mission is still a lot of fun to play. The progression is nice, and the way it contextualises an underground lair filled with tiny hideouts and mansions for rogues to play around with, is splendid. While some parts felt a bit repetitive, the rooms felt just unique enough to keep them from merging together in my head. I felt the part of finding the two keys was juuust a little too obtuse, but only a little.
My only real issue is with the loot requirements, though the discovery that you need 2400 out of a whopping 4000 shocks me a little. I managed to find exactly 2400 of loot, and that was after scouring the same places several times. I have no idea where the remaining 1600 would be. That's... interesting.
All in all, a very neat mission. It doesn't beat many of the OG levels for me, mostly because of it feeling like it overstays its welcome a bit.

You may also want to check out Intertheft by Nomadman, it 's another very solid take on Thieves' Guild, but a bit more similar to the original in terms of setting.

@Thirteen1355: There is a pretty much hidden, optional area with a lot of loot. You'll find at least 1k worth of loot there if not more.
SPOILER: you can enter it by shooting a rope arrow through a hole, and then finding a very long ladder. It's a spooky area, and unless I missed some readable(s) mentioning it, it doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the mission, so it's pretty easy to accidentally skip.
