This mission at first reads like it's the typical mansion raid owned by a lord with a closet of skeletons (sometimes literally). However, there are a few things that set it apart--
Easiest place to start is the setting. The whole area the mission takes place in what feels like Thief's version of an opulent Venetian canal, complete with wooden boats and waterlogged passages. The manor itself is properly detailed with good use of custom assets and decent variety of rooms. While you sneak around you're bombarded by the sounds of rain clattering on the windows and distant thunder.
That rain and thunder also serves a secondary purpose of masking your sounds or revealing the shadows you're hiding in to the guards. The effect can look a bit awkward while outside, as it applies a "fullbright" looking effect to sections of the town; but inside the effect looks fantastic. Normally dim rooms suddenly light up with striking shadows on the walls.
Gameplay wise it is your normal Thief fare. Shoutout to the auto note taking function that helps prevent inventory clog by automatically marking down important pieces of information when you activate readables. It makes location secrets or puzzle solving maybe a bit too obvious but I'd take that over having to scroll past 500 notes in my inventory any day.
Otherwise it's your normal Thief fare, in both action and story. Overall, well worth a play. It's not very long either, most likely taking 1-2 hours for your average player.
