This is an unusual mission but a lot of fun to play. Beginning with the recovery of a precious jewel you stashed away, you then travel through empty city streets, a plague-ridden inn undergoing fumigation, and finally into a huge casino full of loot to be stolen. And what began as a simple cash grab soon turns into a captivating investigation and rescue mission.
It seems this map was begun and abandoned by _Atti_ years ago, then adopted and spruced up by Geep. The old-school architecture is plainly obvious, with the starting streets in particular looking like they could have been taken straight from T1 or T2. It's a unique and effective look, and the authors sure know how to use the vertical dimension well.
The casino itself is fun to navigate. It contains enough different stuff to stay interesting without being so huge that it becomes a confusing chore. Among the highlights are the singing Builder acolyte, the fortune teller, and the gift shop. These are all charming, unique touches that set this mission apart from many others.
At times, towards the end, the mission can become a bit of a key hunt. But I've seen much, much worse and you do get through it before it becomes too much of a drag. Here and there I was also able to climb out of the world geometry but, again, it's no big deal. The NSFW cutscene at the end is- well, it's a thing that can't be described in writing and is not very erotic IMO.
If you're up for a Dark Mod mission that feels like the original duology, you will like this one. It's reminiscent in a lot of ways of Thieves' Guild without the confusing bullshit, or especially Song of the Caverns. I did develop a better appreciation of it after my second playthrough. Lots of fun!
