This is a tiny but cool mission based on Edgar Allen Poe's famous story. While a terrible plague ravages the City, Prince Prospero and some of his noble friends have holed themselves up and have organised a masquerade ball while they wait for the sickness to run its course. Garrett sneaks wearing a thief masquerade costume and commences looting.
First of all, this mission is gorgeous. The architecture is unique and effective, in a style I haven't seen before, and it's just a feast for the eyes. The only issue with it is, being initially intended to be an entry to one of Komag's "tiny space" contests, it seems too cramped and small to convincingly be a rich prince's ballrooms.
Gameplay is simple but more than passable. There's some cleverly constructed secrets, and the confrontation with the Red Death himself is a fitting finale.
And it has a guy dressed as a Hammer Haunt doing the macarena, so there's that.
