An FM that alone rivals a main game add-on in scope, story and detail. A well-designed narrative that expands the story of the original and brings back the Mechanist sect with all its steamy splendor.
Especially the first third is very well done with not only a handful of interesting new arrow types right from the get-go, which completely substitute the original roster (Ice, Darkness, Alcohol and Explosive), but also interesting albeit simple side (fetch) quests that you get from talking to specific NPCs. Moss arrows lacking was something that diminished my enjoyment, though.
The individual levels are plentiful, large and well-designed but lack verticality and sneaky passages; the few ones that I found were rather uninspired, short and had not much of value besides being sneaky shortcuts, which is alright. There were a few exceptions, however, that felt substantial but weren't as interesting as I had hoped (a secret cellar dungeon and a luxurious balcony).
There are some levels that include dynamic-looking destruction of world objects like stairs or whole buildings, which surprised me pleasantly. Unfortunately the janky collision physics with the player model made some reloads necessary as I was often getting stuck on ragdolling objects.
When I completed the mission, I had only but about 75 % of loot acquired, even though I searched the levels thoroughly. This was not enough to end the thing in an official manner but I knew pretty much when I arrived at the end, so it was no bother.
I played it on Minimalist Project difficulty 1.3 Ghost Mode, which forbids even blackjacking and it was very enjoyable with the exception of many shadows between circles of light (on the floor) that would give me away very brightly even though it seemed as if they were in complete darkness but that's just a minor gripe.
I highly recommend checking this one out! It even comes with several cut scenes and original music (good but a bit repetitive).
