But there could be slight problems due to the sequence of your actions. If you get into the mansion without the missing lockpick, a lot of loot inside will be out of reach. On the other hand, if you get inside with a flask of balsam, then after finding that Whitman chick the mission will consider itself succesfully done and will suddenly end so you won’t have to look for a way out. That's definitely a bug but a convenient one.
