The very first "real" mission of Thief is such a delight to play. Having two entrances (or even three, in some sense), even if one is a lot harder to use, gives Bafford's Manor a sense of depth and "place" unseen in many other missions of Thief Gold. For comparison's sake: in Cragscleft, the main doorway to the prison complex isn't even visualized.
This sense of detail continues once inside. Bafford's Manor contains things like a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, and even a throne room (how pretentious can you get?) Without too many guards patrolling the hallways, this mission stands as a perfect introduction to the open-ended structure many mansion-type missions continue to follow in the series.
The story/objectives aren't much to write home about, lacking the world building and sense of scope some later missions have. That said, you're a thief. You don't care about gods, religion, or supernatural nonsense, right?
