Briefing

Last night I pulled off a reckless job for a rich merchant who wanted me to rob his competing neighbor. Both tricked me.

They had the city watch swarm the house and it was then only by the skin of my teeth that I survived to get away. They had been so close that I had smelled their breath as they messed up the tidy bedchamber bellow me.

Today I saw the two merchants drinking wine together in a pub. It had been damn nice to rob them naked for what they had done but that had to wait...
I had just heard interesting news.

Last night a ship had anchored in the southern harbor.
Not just any ship. But the ship carrying the Royal Garmyth, an extremely valuable jewel with origins so mysterious that only a few living knew it existed.
It was a treasure in itself with a price so dear that men were prepared to kill for it. Naturally men would kill for almost anything these days but everything was different with the Royal Garmyth.
A man who knew its real worth would not hesitate to sacrifice a whole army to acquire it. Lucky for me no one like that knew of it, at least not yet.

After a bit of inquiring during the evening I found out that the Garmyth had been stored in a warehouse near the dock where the ship had pulled in; it had sailed immediately after unloading
and according to my eye witness there had been a load of brutish men to take it into safety.
First this evoked some thought in me that maybe the owner of the warehouse already knew what he had bit his teeth into but my fears were luckily proved unwarranted.

He was still unaware...he would never have to know.
I'm sure it won't be too hard to acquire the thing but something keeps telling me everything isn't as it seems from the outside.

I have to be careful.
