I just started re-playing the thief series after re-downloading it from Steam. I enjoyed the playthrough, but desperately wanted more. There's just nothing like that little serotonin boost from hearing that glittery sound when you pick up loot.
I generally prefer the missions where it's largely about sneaking through a big rich manor and nabbing shiny things, so this mission appealed to me. This is the fourth fan mission I've played and the best so far. Not just the intricate level design, but the little touches. The randomized murder mystery element, the extremely secure vault, the sprawling manor that still retains a sensible enough architecture that you can't get too lost, and of course, so much loot!
Not only were there some ambitious ideas here, they were well executed, up to the interesting way an epilogue was worked in once the last bits of the mission were complete.
I didn't find all 52 cards, though, and it took me nearly 3 hours of in-game time (not including reloads) to accomplish the main objectives. Some of that is because the place is so huge, but also because I was really hunting for those cards (found about 24 or 25 before I decided I was bored with the search.)
I might go back and complete it, but suffice to say, very much enjoyed it. The card puzzle wasn't my cup of tea, but for hardcore 100% completionists, go nuts!
I am curious about that vault still.
