Briefing

Volta and the Stone is a fairly large Thief-style mission (Lord Bafford's Manor).
It is the first mission of a campaign that follows the Thief and his encounter with an archaic and powerful force.
The campaign will span from robbing noble houses to being hunted by malevolent creatures from beyond the Veil.
The emphasis is on creating a mood and tone that will hopefully feel familiar to fans of The Dark Mod and the original Thief games.

A very good mission, with a fairly large mansion at it's core. A great mission to continue your TDM journey if you're new. I might have given a higher score but in places the sound was really bad, an echo had me wondering if a guard was nearby, but overall it was very good.

An enjoyable basic mission that doesn't outstay it's welcome, good for someone just getting into TDM.

I enjoyed the stealth gameplay despite feeling quite easy to due to over-reliance on ambient light, which unfortunately makes this fm look quite washed out and bland in many places (probably unplayable with ambient dropped to 0). Still solid ...

A good old manor heist, everything is as you would expect. The main objective is mildly difficult as you need to find some fairly well hidden things, but you can easily piece it together. I felt the guards were predictable and a bit easy even on Expert. The problem is the sound, it was acting really weird for me, in some areas I always hear doub...

I use OpenAL and had to disable EAX for this one. It likely was never optimized for it, as it didn't exist in TDM yet. Or it may yet be an issue with OpenAL but sound seemed, off. Close feeling in wide places for instance.

I wanted to post to TDM forums about this but can't get into my account any longer.

An homage to Thief OMs like Lord Bafford's Manor, but with its own strong identity. The ambiance is fantastic, and the layout is inventive and fun to explore. One of the few FMs out there with such high production quality and tight focus on gameplay.
