info NOTES:     (Made for the 2024 Speedbuild Jam, although we missed the deadline)

- Requires NewDark 1.27   

- This isn't a typical Thief mission. Think of it as an interactive story. So if you get taffed when things stray away from canon, or only like to play classic OM-style, this FM may not be for you.

- Disable mods before playing

- You might see lag in some areas due to the toll that holiday magic takes on the engine.

- You may notice some rough edges - hey, speedbuild, dude.

DIFFICULTY: Ho! Ho! Ho! (All the same)

KNOWN ISSUES:

There may be lag in areas with long sight lines and/or complex architecture. Some AI get scared of rats and jump onto tables. Who can blame them?

[No movies] Version Fix

A few people have experienced a crash to desktop when trying to play the mission. For one person, it was seemingly caused by the briefing video. I have uploaded a version with no videos, and included links to the videos themselves. If you experience a crash when trying to play the mission, you might want to try the no movies version.

As the title says...

At first I had problems with this mission crashing but the authors released a version without the intro and outro movies. This solved the problem for me - I'm very pleased to say.

i've never played Fan Mission like this. at the night of Christmas, Garrett has a few things to do, like hiring a cook, search 10 fruitcakes and destroy them to get the star ornament, then use 2 rope arrows to place the star on the top of the tree, no kill anyone at Christmas. i like that objective. no wonder this Fan Mission has a high rating....

This mission got it all, loot, secrets, the spirit of Christmas. It's bigger than I anticipated and you will be navigating roofs, windows and even a chimney like a proper Santa, while unleashing good deeds on everyone. The mission is beautiful, with a lot of festive details, but it comes at a price of major slowdowns. There are a lot of custom objects, videos, voices. Authors went all in.

It might seem ridiculous to give a christmas themed mission a perfect score but what can I say? It does what it sets out to do with brilliance and perfect execution.
