I think the 1.1 version fixed most of my issues I had with the mission. I love the story, the atmosphere, and the level design. I was surprised by the amount of options the player were presented with when entering the mansion. A great edition to a already stacked list of great fan missions on the year.

Personally, I'm one of those taffers who enjoys the hell out of a Thief mission when its setting goes deep into the dark fantasy territory - thus why the title of Into the Dark Forest hyped me up quite a lot already! And oh boy, was I pleased by what I got! Gotta mention though the mines and the factory sections (basically the first third) almos...

i love this fan mission, good map design and scary atmosphere, gives amazing feeling. the most fun is the annoying undeads and skeletons can be killed easily from behind with a sword. unlimited health at Capella Plangite make the mission interesting to play. there are two bosses must be defeated. so highly recommended to try.

It's solid, but so unremarkable, that I struggle to write something about it. It's just rooms and corridors on top of rooms and corridors. It's just a castle. With rooms. And corridors. And doors. Nothing offensive, it's a well-designed map with internal logic and structure, that makes sense. It's basic, medium-sized map, that doesn't offer anyt...

This is a tiny but cool mission based on Edgar Allen Poe's famous story. While a terrible plague ravages the City, Prince Prospero and some of his noble friends have holed themselves up and have organised a masquerade ball while they wait for the sickness to run its course. Garrett sneaks wearing a thief masquerade costume and commences looting....

It's an OK early mission, that is somewhat spoiled by dull crypt design. I get that it's supposed to be disorienting, but it ended up being more monotonous than disorienting. There's a bit of nice storytelling in the first part of the mission with decently designed Hammerite shack, that hides a digging site underneath. The digging site is really...

Make no mistake, it's a good mission from game design stand point. It has interesting secrets, that require paying attention. Some good free form environment manipulation. It's structured well, logical and traverse isn't exhausting. Yet it doesn't try to overwhelm you with marble or super-tight patrols. Visual design is very boxy, even if logica...

For a vertical mission like this I didn't do much climbing, tbh. It's more like a long spiralling street, that goes higher and higher to the mansion, and it's quite linear. While the main objective is straight forward, with a few nice twists and spooks, the optional stuff was brutal. I don't have many points in perception, so it took me ages to ...

Well, you already know that it has a lot of verticality, when it's a skacky mission. 😉
Apart from that, there's really lots to like. The level design is great, and logically takes you through the objectives. The added "contracts" you can get (for free 😉) in the shop before the mission start, in the vein of Dishonored, were a nice addition to ...

as Van Helsing, your mission to save Lucy Harker and investigating about Nosferatu... feels familiar? of course, because author is the same person who also created "Dracula" campaign. i like the game atmosphere, there are no annoying enemies while investigating the castle, twice. the downside is the unfinished story. still waiting a sequel when ...

this is a great fan campaign. Garrett initially worked with Sir Belmont, then later Garrett contacted by Lady Emilie. the mission begin at the friendly city, then ends at very large area where there is a real world and an unreal world. i love that twist. all five maps are well designed, and the story is good. i'm very enjoyed playing this.

This mission was released in a rush to meet the TDM 15th Anniversary contest deadline, and is clearly still somewhat unfinished. It's very short- with just two or three City alleys and a small but cool underground section- there is only one AI in the whole mission, and the last few rooms are disappointingly empty.
Nonetheless there's a few t...

Shadows of Eidolon is a classic bite-sized romp through some pitch black sewer tunnels. For the most part it is pretty enjoyable. The mapping is pretty basic but the linearity of it helps avoid getting lost in any of the pitchblack areas. To help see, the normal blackjack is replaced with a permanent effect default Thief flare. This single objec...

Continuing to go trough as many top rated missions as I can I've reached this One Million Units Contest gem. Skacky has created or participated in a good dozen Thief projects and I've yet to play one that I don't like. I don't genuinely enjoy very long missions and in the spirit of the contest, this mission is pleasantly short-ish. It still took...

A city/mansion mission with tons of verticality. Was a joy to play!

At the start of January, release a voting page for the best missions of the past year. Various categories are included across different disciplines. A set of expert judges weigh in on the voting. A popular vote for regular members also makes an appearance.
After a month, a new page appears with awards and yearly write up, maybe someone even m...

It would be cool for Work in Progress FM's to have a "Notify me" button of sorts, so you would get emails about new updates posted for the mission by the author. This should help build momentum for release date and show the creators that there are a lot of fans following their work.

The only good thing I can say about it is that it explains what SPCF from "Retrieval" FM from the same author is. And, believe me, you don't need to know. The rest of it is pure ugly junk, that nobody should ever spend their time on.
