The story, the cutscenes, the voice acting, the art direction, the lore additions, and especially the gameplay and level design—everything came together really well to create an absolutely amazing "lightning in a bottle" experience. Black Parade is truly the pinnacle of Thief fan missions and my personal GOTY.

This has got to be the densest, most layered Thief Gold mission I've come across yet. Just when I think I've explored it all, I open a door and voila, there's an additional area I ain't set eyes on before! This is pure ecstasy for a city mission connoisseur. Criminally underrated.

For a mission from 2004 this one looks quite nice. Some interiors are quite simple looking and a bit empty but that's to be expected for such an old FM. I really liked the outside areas which are creative looking and there's a nice variance in the architecture of buildings.

Beautiful map set in a bizarre and, as the title says, inscrutable mage tower, which is full of surprises. But not just is the map good to behold, the gameplay itself is fun, the map design is consistent, and the puzzles are intuitive.

First mission feels a bit less polished but gives a good feeling of trekking through the mountains, it's very original, and completely different from the second one.
