Is this mission supposed to play without lockpicks? Because I don't get them at any difficulty but every other door and chest is locked so I suppose it is not meant to be viable without them?

This mission is for the player to blow off some steam. Some readables are obscene and crazy at times, but I still had fun. Story is just so insane and comical at the same time. Overall: witless, quite mad, but refreshing fan mission.

A really good-looking city mission featuring nice variety of locations, with the underground hideout areas worth particular praise. Perhaps nothing especially original in this one, and its story quite forgettable, but both the brushwork and the atmosphere are very good.
For all the rest, it depends on what style of play you prefer. City missi...

Firmly sits next to The Sound of a Burrick in a Room and Endless Rain as one of my favorite city missions and just fan missions in general. Love how the mansions are designed differently and the Undercity section is so cool.

There were some great twists in this level every time I progressed, atmosphere was amazing together with the level being set during the day. The way this mission started with Garrett completely unarmed and on the run was very well done, and also how the level changes every time you make progress and have to backtrack a few times back to where yo...

As someone who is reviewing FMs. Old terrible stinkers are fun to review only if they contain something unique or strange to make fun of. Or are terrible in ways that allow me to tear into the author guilt free. But most bad missions are not like that. Every FM from Koobze, to Ominous bequest, has genuine effort and work put into it, and without...

Belboz is a name that is starting to get a certain level or recognision. As well as making the awful docklands, they are also responsible for Garretts revenge, the Tricksters gem mine series, and of course, this mission.
Honestly; I have gone from dreading his missions, to absolutely looking forward to them. Pretty impressive as he is one of th...

My second fan mission, and my second Thieves' Guild overhaul. I played Rogue's Lair (2024) yesterday, an ambitious expansion of the original experience (I gave it a 7/10). Intertheft is less grandiose, but I believe this is a strength.
Intertheft is more focused, tighter, and cozier. Areas feel more varied than in Rogue's Lair. Interiors are...

A few days ago, I started replaying Thief Gold. It's my first time on Expert. Since I did not skip the Thieves' Guild mission the first time around, I dreaded the idea of replaying it. Thus, I started looking if some fan mission managed to update the original. To a lot of coincidence, I found that this fan mission was released only two weeks ago...

This mission flips the usual script in a way, this time you're not a thief but an agent looking to uncover a conspiracy and I like this different scenario. The story telling is really good, the readables are well written and informative but don't drag on too long like in some missions, and I really got invested in uncovering all the secrets.

Good atmosphere, it reminded me of Cragscleft a bit, being a fortress in the mountains. It's kind of forgettable in terms of the actual layout though, very simple and straightforward. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you're simply looking to kill an hour or two, it won't be the best mission you've ever played but it's still entertaining. I ...

Can I just say; Garrett should totally just buy a second set of lockpicks. Seriously, they cost him one horn of quintus, and with how many FMs involve re-stealing it, just... get some futureproofing already.
Or maybe he has done that, and Garrett has just left a trail of lockpicks across the entire city already because he is so clumsy with them...

This mission is about as good as it can be, and turns out that is pretty good.
This is a standard mansion mission, with a slightly unusual set of objectives. It's well built (some of the brushwork is a bit weak in places, this is very much pre-newdark, so I can give it a pass on that) doesn't feel overly restrictive after the initial introdu...

This mission is bad.
It is massive and does not use that space. It's full of strange design. I do kind of like the fact that one of the objective items is a rat. I also didn't spot anything obviously offensive. Unfortunately, that's where the missions good points end. It's mostly just big, bland, and ugly. With it's size making it not even a ...

One of the downsides to playing so many Fan missions is inevitably becoming jaded to "normal" missions, and naturally biased towards the more unusual FMs in thiefs fandom. (I suspect this is the reason film critics often end up prefering strange indie movies, over blockbusters.) This mission feeds perfectly into that bias.
Embracing the enemy...

The ritual is one of those missions where the meta-narrative of the author slowly improving is probably more interesting than the mission itself. You are garrett, and... well the description of the mission gives you the whole plot already, so I can skip to talking about the execution.
This mission has a lot to like. But only in it's second ha...

I can't help but write a brief review in what's become one of my personal favorite fan-missions.
This FM has you stealing from the mayor at first, only to find a horrific scene requiring a bit of detective work and a change of main target. It takes place in an urban environment, with several tight corners and spaces with highly rewarding exp...

This one is a mixed experience. You begin to hate it, then suddenly it gets interesting, and then makes you frown again.
Gameplay-wise, it's an adevnture game on Dark Engine. Find one object, use it in the room across the map to gain access to another room. Repeat 10 times. There are some puzzles to it and they're fair, but nothing particular...
