This mission is very small and pretty boring. It contains two rooms, an outdoor section, and a handful of guards and the whole point is basically just to wait until the guards turn around on the spot so you can steal the loot while their backs are turned. It's pretty lame and dull.

I'm surprised how much fun I had with this. It's just a simple, crude and unpolished mansion heist. The mansion itself itself is just a box, full of boxy rectangular rooms. Sound propagation is so-so, and there are numerous instances of misaligned textures, CSG fails, and bad proportions. And much of the mission has been blatantly copied from L...

This would have been a solid 5 or 6, not bad for such an old mission, if not for the bewildering decisions to have entire rooms of pitch blackness. Black shadowy patches here and there are fine, but a whole cluttered labyrinth with absolutely no way to see where you're going is just obnoxious.

This mission exists basically just to torture everyone's least favourite servant. You know, the little dipstick with the dumb leggings and annoying dark red hood and the kind of whiny voice that just begs for a punch in the teeth. But this was too much even for me.

The Haunted Cathedral is definitely among the best missions Thief has to offer. Sent to recover a precious artefact from an abandoned Hammerite cathedral, Garrett has to make his way across burned-out and zombie-infested streets to reach his goal. It's eerie, creepy, and intense- you'll never feel quite at ease at any point, in a good way.

Definitely one of the highlights of the game, The Sword manages to produce a deeply disorienting and scary feeling. The ground floor of the mansion seems normal enough, if a little questionable in choice of decor, but as you ascend to the upper floors things get weirder and weirder.
